Why we built ClauseCheck

Most people sign contracts they do not fully understand. Not because they are careless, but because legal language is designed for lawyers — not for the people signing.

Employment contracts, rental leases, freelance agreements, NDAs — these documents affect your income, your rights, and your future. Yet the standard advice is "get a lawyer" — which costs hundreds of euros and takes days, for what is often a routine contract.

We built ClauseCheck to close that gap. Paste any contract, and get a plain-language diagnosis in seconds. Not a replacement for a lawyer — but enough understanding to know what questions to ask, what to negotiate, and when you actually need legal advice.

What ClauseCheck does

ClauseCheck analyses contracts using Claude by Anthropic — one of the most capable AI models available. It reads your contract and returns:

• Highlighted clauses — risky terms are flagged in red, questionable ones in yellow, and fair ones in green
• Plain-language explanations — what each clause actually means for you
• Risk assessment — scored across 4 categories with detailed subcategories
• Suggested alternatives — concrete rewording you can propose
• Questions for your lawyer — specific questions to ask if you decide to get legal advice
• Jurisdiction-aware analysis — flag clauses that may be void under French, German, Luxembourg, or other European law

The analysis works in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Luxembourgish. You can export the results as a professionally formatted PDF.

Privacy and security

Your documents are never stored. Contract text is sent to the AI for real-time analysis and immediately discarded after the response is returned. We do not save, log, cache, or retain any contract text. The PDF report is generated in your browser — we never see it.
