What is ClauseCheck?
ClauseCheck is a free AI-powered contract analyser. You paste or upload any contract, and it highlights risky clauses, flags hidden traps, scores the contract across 4 categories, and explains everything in plain language. It works in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Luxembourgish.
Is ClauseCheck free?
Yes. The full analysis — including all 4 diagnosis categories, annotated clause view, and PDF export — is completely free. No account required, no credit card, no hidden fees.
Is this legal advice?
No. ClauseCheck provides automated contract analysis for informational purposes only. It helps you understand what you're signing, but it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer. Always consult a legal professional before making important decisions based on a contract.
What happens to my document?
Your document is never stored. The text is sent to our AI for real-time analysis and is immediately discarded after the response is returned. We do not save, log, cache, or retain any contract text. See our privacy policy for full details.
What file types can I upload?
ClauseCheck accepts PDF, DOCX, and TXT files up to 10MB. You can also paste contract text directly into the text area.
What types of contracts can ClauseCheck analyse?
Any contract in any language. The tool is designed for employment contracts, freelance agreements, NDAs, rental leases, music contracts, management agreements, terms of service, insurance policies, loan agreements, and more. You can select the document type from a dropdown to get more targeted analysis.
How does jurisdiction analysis work?
When you select a jurisdiction (e.g. France, Germany, UK), ClauseCheck applies country-specific legal frameworks to the analysis. It flags clauses that may be void or unenforceable under the applicable law — for example, cosmetic repair clauses in German rental contracts that are frequently void under AGB-Recht.
What languages does ClauseCheck support?
The analysis output can be generated in English, French, German, Portuguese, or Luxembourgish. The contract itself can be in any language — ClauseCheck will detect the language automatically and analyse it regardless.
How accurate is the analysis?
ClauseCheck uses Claude by Anthropic, one of the most capable AI models available. The analysis is thorough and identifies genuine legal risks. However, AI can make mistakes — treat the output as a helpful starting point, not a definitive legal opinion.
Can I download the analysis as a PDF?
Yes. After running an analysis, click 'Get my PDF' in the sidebar. Enter your email address and a professionally formatted PDF report will be generated and downloaded instantly. The PDF includes highlighted clauses, risk scores, suggested alternative wording, and questions to ask your lawyer.
Do you collect my email?
Only if you choose to download the PDF. We ask for your email before generating the report. We use it to send you a confirmation email and nothing else. We never sell or share your email. You can unsubscribe at any time.
What is ClauseCheck Pro?
ClauseCheck Pro is our upcoming paid plan with unlimited analyses, saved contract history, and team access. It's currently in development. You can join the waitlist on our homepage. The free plan will remain free forever.
