1. What ClauseCheck does
ClauseCheck is an AI-powered contract analysis tool. You paste or upload a contract, and our system highlights risky clauses, generates diagnosis scores, and provides plain-language explanations. This is not legal advice.
2. Your documents are never stored
Your contract text is sent to our server solely for real-time analysis. It is forwarded to the Anthropic API (Claude) for processing and is immediately discarded after the response is returned. We do not save, log, cache, or retain any contract text on our servers. No document data is written to any database or file system.
In short: your document goes in, the analysis comes out, and the document is gone. We never see it, store it, or share it.
3. Data we collect
The only personal data we collect is your email address, and only when you voluntarily provide it to download your annotated PDF report. We use this email to:
- Send you a confirmation email with your report
- Notify our team of new signups
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.
4. Cookies
ClauseCheck uses only essential cookies required for the application to function (e.g., cookie consent preference). We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking scripts.
5. Third-party processors
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes your contract text for analysis. Subject to Anthropic's privacy policy. Anthropic does not train on API inputs.
- Resend — sends transactional emails. Subject to Resend's privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosts the application. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
- Restriction — request restricted processing of your data
- Portability — receive your data in a structured format
- Objection — object to processing of your personal data
- Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email
Since we do not store your documents, there is no document data to access, rectify, or delete. For email-related requests, contact us below.
7. Data retention
Contract text: zero retention. Not stored at any point.
Email addresses: retained until you request deletion or unsubscribe.
PDF reports: generated client-side in your browser. We never receive or store the PDF file.
